Second Delivery of LLCs Arrives to Australia

Navantia shipped the second batch of four LLCs (LHD Landing Crafts) to the Australian Navy.

The vessels departed Navantia Bay of Cádiz on December 27, and arrived to HMAS Waterhen naval base, Sydney on February 5, where they will be commissioned to Defence Materiel Organization.

The first four LLCs joined the fleet in May 2014, while another delivery is expected mid 2015. All of these landing crafts will operate with the LHD Canberra and LHD Adelaide.

LLCs have a length overall of 23.30 meters, width of 6.40 m and a depth of 2.80 m. The vessels can reach a speed of more than 20 knots.
