Image of the Day: USS Mitscher Embarks Supplies

Sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Mitscher (DDG 57) remove cargo nets from supplies after a vertical replenishment in the Persian Gulf.

USS Mitscher engaged in RAS with the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) on February 13.

The vessel’s SA-330J Puma helicopter seized the opportunity to fly supplies to the USS Milius (DDG 69).

Mitscher is deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
