Authorities

Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security Agency personnel recently had an opportunity to train together and learn from one another during a five day Visit, Board, Search, Seizure (VBSS) training with the US Coast Guard Middle East Training Team in Manama, Bahrain.

The Middle East Training Team consists of U.S. Coast Guard specialists who provide law enforcement and tactical proficiency training for the Coast Guard personnel as well as for foreign navies and coast guards throughout the region.

The training consisted of classroom theory and challenging practical exercises concentrating on vessel pre-boarding and boarding procedures, use of force continuum, boarding team communication, close quarters battle tactics/procedures, and numerous scenarios with live role players, including a brief introduction to Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

Commodore Brian Santarpia, Royal Canadian Navy, Commander Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) was invited to preside over the training closing ceremony.

This training provides a valuable opportunity to share best practices and enhance the interoperability between CMF forces.
