USS Donald Cook Docks in Theoule-sur-Mer, France

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) arrived in Theoule-sur-Mer, France, for a scheduled port visit Aug. 13, 2015.

The primary reason for the port visit was to commemorate the 71st Anniversary of the allied liberation of southern France in August, 1944.

USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) is part of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) station in Rota, Spain, and, is on a regularly scheduled patrol in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
