Vessels of the Operation Sophia fleet conducted two rescue operations yesterday, Oct 28.

The ships SNS Triglav and HMS Enterprise were the first to be called to action where they were required to help a wooden boat in distress.

A few hours later, HMS Richmond and FGS Berlin carried out another rescue by taking up migrants sailing in two rubber boats north-west of Zuwara, Lybia. The Italian patrol boat Diciotti also got involved in the action by taking over persons from one of the boats.

As a final result 727 migrants were rescued and transferred to the ship Siem Pilot, operating for the Frontex Operation Triton.
