As disclosed, the contract includes 34 SUPERAV platforms. As part of the program, Indra Group will deliver troop transport, command-and-control, recovery, and ambulance variants of the VACIM, integrating the SUPERAV 8×8 platform with the mission systems requested by the Spanish Ministry of Defense (MoD).

These tasks, performed at Indra’s industrial facilities in Spain, will include installing the aforementioned systems and the functional adaptation, validation, and final delivery of the vehicles configured for the Marine Infantry.

Nazario Bianchini, Head of Sales at IDV, said that the SUPERAV 8×8 had already been selected by the United States Marine Corps and the Italian Armed Forces. He explained that in the United States, the platform serves as the basis for the ACV developed in partnership with BAE Systems, while in Italy, it underpins the Veicolo Blindato Anfibio (VBA) equipped with Leonardo’s weapon systems.

He added that, under the contract with Indra, IDV would deliver an amphibious armoured platform that would enable Spain to renew and expand its national defence vehicle fleet and address current and future operational challenges.

“The collaboration with IDV will constitute a decisive step within the project to equip the Spanish Marine Infantry with the capabilities required by today’s demanding scenarios, and the beginning of a stable, long-term industrial relationship,” Frank Torres, CPO and Managing Director of Indra Land Vehicles, stated.
