HMAS Success Fills USCG Aquidneck’s Fuel Supply

The Royal Australian Navy’s Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment Ship HMAS Success recently conducted its first recorded astern Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with United States Coast Guard’s Patrol Boat USCG Aquidneck.

The unique astern replenishment evolution was conducted while the vessels were deployed in the Middle East Region, on March 4.

HMAS Success is currently deployed to Operation Manitou in support of Combined Maritime Forces operations.

Besides providing logistical support to coalition ships in the region as part of Task Force (TF) 53,  HMAS Success also contributes to counter-piracy and counter-terrorism.

The ship will return to Fleet Base East in Sydney, Australia in June.
